Future American Idol........

Tonight David sang his version of John Lennons Imagine. Wow! He was absolutely amazing. He is definitely the front runner in this competition and I hope it stays that way. Effortless, he was born to sing on a big stage. I was watching tonights show and noticed he was last. I thought to myself, Hmmm saving the Best for Last. Well, it turned out that I was more than right. He was the only contestant who seemed to have the foresight to make the song modern and completely perfect for him. I have also been a fan of Jason Castro, the guy with the dreads. I liked his performance, but to tell you the truth I cannot remember what he sang. And that little Danny Noriega really captured my attention tonight. He can be a little snippy to Simon but he pulls it off with his eccentricity and humor. However, David Cooks arrogance showed like a beacon tonight. I hope he hasn't cooked himself, because he really is the better rocker. That Robbie Carrico claims everyone wants him to prove his authenticity, but I really think he wants to prove it to himself with validation from others. Not working. Also, is Robbie's hair real? The judges seemed to like Chikezie tonight, but he does nothing for me. The way he was thrusting his hips while he sang, seemed a little obscene. Who else? Oh, yes David Johns, he was ok. He seemed to just be copying the original. The same with the Yeager guy, he never seems to stand out for me. I'm sure I'm leaving someone out.........hmmm.Oh...David Hernandez, he was awesome! But for some reason I forgot about him when David Archuleta sang. In fact! I forgot what songs the other guys sang after David! He was brilliant to choose such a renowned song. This way, no one will Ever Forget.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhahhhhhhhhhh! What a true disappointment! Team Bruno won, WHAT???? No way. Oh I can't say what I am really thinking, that would be just mean. Anyway I am glad I got to see Mariel perform. And, I'm sure it's not the end for her. But what a bummer, TB was not a great team. TCA was definitely a better team, and their single so much more radio friendly. What a way to end the season. Booooooooooooooo!

Good luck in your future endeavors Mariel.

Dance War Finale.......

From ABC's website:

Episode 107
Mon Feb 18 8/7c
After six weeks of intense training and competition, teams Bruno and Carrie Ann face off on the dance floor for the last time and the winning team is awarded a Hollywood Records contract, on the season finale. And don't miss the announcement of the new line-up of stars for Dancing with the Stars - a primetime first!

I am so excited , I am hoping that Carrie Anns team wins this . I think that they are much more marketable than Brunos team. So I am totally rooting for Mariel tonight. Sorry Zack, you are cute, but Mariel is my girl!

Dear Tatiana...........

Hiding behind the daisies. You're supposed to be watching this movie with tu mama. But, of course you are on the cell phone with KatiBaby. What's up with that. And no.....I'm not driving her home at one in the morning . Try to make reasonable plans. And just because I am always available to you , does not mean you can push it pal. I love you! Ha , and I am writing this the next morning, and you are still sleeping! It's 9:32. I have already cleaned the kitchen, my bedroom and am on the second load of laundry. I have read all the news, blogged on myspace and now here. AND you my dear are still SLEEPING! If you want to go out of town today you must get your sweet arse up and MOVE IT. Ugh........I really hate having to be quiet until little princess decides to raise her glorious head off her dang pillow. Get up so I can VACUUM! Ha I should just vacuum anyway.

Gahhhhhhhhh I don't think I slept very well last night. Obviously you are enjoying sleeping. Hmmm Maybe I'm just jealous because I can't sleep. Sheesh, but you should still GET UP!

The next best thing to buying a T-Shirt.......

and having your long-awaited indie band sign it. Just have them sign your BELLY! I took my daughter and her friend to see Breathe Carolina at Kilby Court. Later that evening I perused the photos she had taken and came upon the one above. Imagine my surprise and raised eyebrows! "Why would you allow strangers to sign your Belly?" I asked my precocious teen, who answered "I didn't want to spend $18 on a t-shirt, so I had them sign me!" Oh, excuse me. Wouldn't a piece of paper suffice? Apparently not as fun. Oh well, life goes on. I just hope she doesnt ask them sign anything else. I will have to pull out the big mommy guns! Ha.

Anyway today is Saturday, and oh what a lovely Saturday it is. The sun has been bright and shiny today. It almost felt like spring, (indoors of course). So we did a little spring cleaning and now my kitchen is pretty again, and not Kluttered looking like it was. Wonder how long that will last.

Hope you are having a great weekend! I am.

In like a Lion and out like a lamb.....

The weather. Yesterday was a far cry from today, weatherwise. Today it was gorgeous all day, though I hear another storm is coming in tonight. Please NOOOOOOOO!
Anyway.....on a lighter note.....Lunch today was Great! We went to Paradise Bakery and it was sooooo yummy. I ordered a Vegetable Pesto sandwich and it came with a cookie. I also ordered coffee! I shouldn't have! I have been tweaking since I got back to work, lol. The food and the friends and the laughs were great! Thanks you guys for chowing down with me! We have to do it again sometime. Indian food anyone?
Well today I get to leave work a little early, my baby has a callback on that audition she went to last week. Double crossies! He he.

A Terrible storm headed this way..........

I want to cry! I hate driving in the snow. The news is saying that the snow should hit during our morning commute. I don't want to die!!!!!!! I love snow when it is all pretty like in the photo above. I took this after one of the last storms from my balcony. I sure do have a nice view. I wouldn't mind if I didn't have to work tomorrow and I could STAY HOME AND ENJOY THE VIEW! Grrrrrrrrrr. Can you tell I'm not looking forward to tomorrow? Huh? Can you? I plan to pray tonight, lots.

(Please God Bless me when I call in when the snow arrives and please don't let my boss kill me.)

Or.......

(Please God Let the Snow pass us by.)

Good night.

P.S.

If this blogger had smiley faces you would SEE ME CRYING!

Dumb Question? Yes...........

Tonight as we watched The longest Yard munching on yummy Basil & Olive popcorn, I posed this question to Tati....."Is popcorn a vegetable?" I thought it was a good question , a quick search of the internet proves I am not the first to ask. We finally checked out the Food Pyramid, it lists popcorn as a grain , and corn as a starchy vegetable. Darn! I thought we were eathing Vegetables! Ha! No............I really didn't think that. I just thought it would be funny to ask. And yes it was funny, to me. Tatiana however took the question seriously as she did not want me to be misinformed.

Cheerio!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Juan Ambrosio Archuleta! From : 1~27~1932 - 12~3~1993. He would have been 76 today. We miss you but your memory lives on in all of us. And you were truly a great father who taught me alot. Love you.

Great Wonderful day..........

Well today has been a Great Wonderful day. I slept in again, I woke at 6:43 for the second day in a row! A full hour and seventeen minutes late.........mmmmmmmmmmmm sleepy. Good sleepy. Hee Hee I love sleeping....what I hate is having to RUSH to get out the door. Grrrr. Anyway, work wasn't too bad, lot's of laughs and lot's of phones ringing, just another day in Paradise. Yes, I work in Paradise. Hee Just kidding of course. The day was great because yesterday I said "out loud" that I intended to get my daughter back on the audition scene. And lo' and behold, today a perfect audition came to me in an email. Of course I submitted her. Yes! She auditions tomorrow and she has been rehearsing all evening. Ahhh My little star.

But, before rehearsing I made us dinner again, because usually everyday we have dinner. And in keeping with the Vegetarian way, I made a yummy Tomato, Arugula Salad. ( we had leftover arugula and I didn't want to waste it). Yummmmmmmmy. We paired this with Kalamata Olive bread. Of course we had to photograph it before eating it. My daughter said it was like instead of saying a prayer first, we take a picture. Isn't that special.

Is anyone watching American Idol? I am. So is Tatiana, for the first time ever! A friend of hers from school is actually on the show so now we have to watch. After Sanjaya last year I swore I would never watch again after he was voted off. I thought he was the most entertaining little chit. I am also watching Dance Wars because a friend/ex-coworkers daughter is one of the contestants. Jessica Sarangay. Going by the name of Mariel. She is the cutest thing ever, and she has this power-house voice. I wish both Mariel and David the best of luck.

I hope tomorrow is as Great and Wonderful as today. May your day be Great and wonderful also.

Ciao!
Have a Great and Wonderful night.

Peace

Dinner is Served!

Pan Bagnia. My new favorite sandwich. I found this recipe in a book my daughter brought me called The Vegetarian Epicure , by Anna Thomas. I love this sandwich! It has tomatoes, roasted red peppers, arugula, onion , olives, olive oil, wine vinegar, italian parsley and.......mmmm uhhhh salt and pepper. And, of course the bread is key. You must, must, must choose a very nice rustic loaf, a ciabatta will do. We had this 2 nights in a row. And I even packed leftovers for lunch. Yum.

Since we are trying the Vegetarian way again. I have been looking for more ways to incorporate vegetables into our diet without getting bored. So far I must say I have been very good, although the other day I did have a chicken sandwich! Ha! Tats was mad. Too funny. But, Ill be good from now on. Also, not buying meat is sure to be good for both my pocketbook and my waistline. I can't wait to see whats cooking tomorrow!

Ciao
